Nomination Form
- All members over 16 years of age may nominate, in writing, any person or persons to receive the savings balance (including any insurance payout) in their credit union account at the time of their death.
- For a Nomination form to be valid, it must be signed and dated by the member and independently witnessed.
- A Nomination shall remain separate from any previous or subsequent Will made by the account holder.
- Currently the maximum savings value that can be nominated is 23,000.
- In the case of Joint Accounts, the surviving account holder will automatically receive the savings balance (including any insurance payout) without the need for a Nomination.
- A marriage revokes any previous Nomination made, so we would advise members who have recently married to complete a new Nomination form.
- A divorce
doesn''t revoke any previous Nomination made. Such Nominations remain
valid after a divorce. We would advise members who have recently
divorced to complete a new Nomination form.
The form is quick and easy to complete and our staff will be happy to answer any questions that you may have.
Failure to have a valid form of nomination could result in a members savings being sent to probate through a solicitor. This can lead to unnecessary delays and extra expense for the surviving family.
